Hillcrest

At Hillcrest care we work with local authority, social services and SEN Departments, alongside LEAs to improve outcomes for children with emotional and behavioural difficulties and challenging behaviour. We provide 52 week residential care and full-time education in 10 children’s homes and 6 DfES registered schools across England and Wales.

Hillcrest also operate Hillcrest Fostercare across the south east of England, and Orange Grove Fostercare in the north and midlands. Between them these two operations provide more than 250 fostercare places.

By working together these services deliver a smooth transition from residential care to fostercare and where possible children are returned to families.

Independent Living programmes are developed to prepare young people for leaving care and to aid their future success as young adults.
This cohesion of services and skills ultimately leads to high placements stability and improved opportunities for educational and personal achievement.

Department of Health

Department of Health

I am delighted to support the launch of the Excellence Network. There is much good practice throughout the social care sector but it is not always recognised, celebrated and shared. The Government is committed to putting excellence at the heart of our ambition for a twenty first century social care system. If best practice were implemented everywhere, the lives of people who use social care could be transformed.

Giving individuals more control and choice over the way their needs are met is central to this. That is why the Department of Health is sponsoring an event promoting excellence in prevention, self-directed care and user involvement. I urge everyone who is working hard to offer people personalised solutions to take part and share their achievements by submitting an entry to the Excellence Network. I will be taking a keen interest in the ideas and examples put forward and look forward to supporting Community Care in this exciting initiative.
